Spiritual Activities for Children and Young People – The parish offers Children’s Liturgy for children aged between 5 and 7 years of age. Children learn simple prayers and songs and do activities. There are several youth groups in the parish which offer opportunities for social activities and faith formation. We have over 150 young people who are members of a youth group. All Liturgy Group teachers and youth group leaders have a blue card. St Mark’s has a Safeguarding Officer for children and vulnerable adults; and risk assessments are done for all activities.
Pre-marriage Preparation and Marriage Counselling – Marriage preparation sessions are offered as well as assistance, based on Christian faith principles, to any couple experiencing problems in their married life. Mixed marriages are common in Australia and assistance is provided to those who face issues due to cultural misunderstandings and conflicts from faith and culture.
Grief Counselling – Family members are welcome to meet with the priest for counselling and support. The death of a loved one is a very difficult emotional time for all families. Family members are also helped with funeral planning.
Difficulties with Family Life – The parish supports families who are experiencing financial and emotional difficulties. Through the St Vincent de Paul organisation charity relief and visits are provided.
Spiritual & Social Activities – the Parish has many groups that offer opportunities to make friends and nurture faith. Come and join us!
Care & Concern Ministry – Ministers take holy communion to those who are too ill to attend church services. This brings the sick, lonely and disabled into the life of our parish community.
